Njord is the Norse God of the seas, water, and wind. He is the patriarch of the Vanir gods and the father of Freyr and Freya, also the patron of Viking sailors and fishermen.
As the patriarch of the Vanir gods, Njord led his people against the Aesir tribe during the Aesir-Vanir War; his family would later join the Aesir as part of a peace settlement.
Often described as a middle-aged father figure, Njord is strong and sunburned from living on the shore, cheerful, and always barefooted, according to the legend, Njord is very proud of his feet and possibly has the greatest feet of all Norse Gods.
Njord is an important god among the Norse culture, the Nordic people rely on fishing and other seafaring activities to generate wealth, thus the locals continued to offer him prayers well into the modern age.
